From your friend in an innocent game of hide and seek

From your teacher in your free lectures

From the shopkeeper you pranked weeks ago

Hide your food

Hide your money

Hide your thoughts, your emotions

Don’t think, don’t breathe.

Squeeze yourself into the littlest of spaces

Make yourself insignificant

Become sheep

Don’t think individually

Obliterate singularity

Follow heard mentality

Hide your feelings

Because that is the way to live

Hide from your griefs

Bury your sorrow and your guilt

Ignore the past and avoid the future

Hide from the shame.

The shame of violence and war

of rape and racism

of poverty

of thoughtlessness

of inhumanity.

Hide, from yourself.
